An enriching experience that will take you through our heroic vineyard and our famous gatehouses where you’ll taste our wines and local dishes.
Welcome to Les Celliers de Sion by your guide, followed by a bus ride to the top of our vineyard. Travelling tastings of 9 wines and 4 gourmet stops where you’ll enjoy Valais platters, raclettes, entrecôte steak and a surprise dessert on your return to Les Celliers.
Route details
After the welcome at Celliers de Sion, you’ll be taken by bus to the foot of Prélêt. You’ll then walk from gatehouse to gatehouse, with the prospect of culinary delights.
The 6 km route takes you through some of our finest vineyard plots. Enjoy magnificent views of the Rhone plain and surrounding mountains.
The degree of difficulty is T2. It is important to be equipped with good shoes because the vineyards are steep. The paths are therefore not suitable for people with reduced mobility or baby carriages.

Frequently asked questions
Are children welcome?
Yes. You can book the Gatehouses Tour for CHF 40 per child, including the same menu and fruit juice.
Keep in mind that the paths are steep and that you need to be careful to ensure their safety.
Please note that the paths are not suitable for baby carriages.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are allowed and we provide them with a water bowl.
What happens in bad weather?
You have the option of rescheduling or cancelling the activity depending on weather conditions, at the latest the day before the activity.
In the event of bad weather, we reserve the right to close our booths and cancel our outdoor activities. You will, of course, be personally informed should this happen.
What to pack in your backpack
Our vineyards are very sunny, so don’t forget to bring a cap or hat and sun cream.
Are there toilets on the course?
Only at the following locations: Celliers de Sion, Clos du Château, Cube Varone and guérite Brûlefer.
How long does the Tour des Guérites take?
The walk takes about 2 hours.
Add to that time to enjoy the view, listen to your guide’s explanations and taste the wines and meals on offer at each stop. Total duration is around 6h30-7h.
If there are less than 10 of us, can we still enjoy this activity?
Yes, but you have to pay for 10.
In this case, we suggest you opt for the gourmet walk. This offer is for groups of less than 10 people.
Can I take advantage of this offer in another language?
To guarantee the availability of an English or German-speaking guide, please request one in good time so that we can provide this service.
Is the 6 km walk steep?
Yes, but in the downhill direction. You won’t climb more than 40 metres.
In short: 5% uphill, 5% flat and 90% downhill.
